German Green Building Association (GGBA)
The Federation has set itself the goal of providing the real estate industry with a uniform representation of interests commensurate with its importance for the national economy. As a federation of entrepreneurs and associations, it gives the entire real estate industry a voice at national and European level – and in the Federation of German Industries (BDI).
The GGBA is a member of the ZIA and regularly attends the association meetings in Berlin. In 2019, for example, a position paper on diversity was published, a cross-association statement on social diversity and its implementation in our working world.
The ZIA’s work on various real estate policy issues is carried out in committees in which a total of around 500 experts from the member companies and delegates from our association are represented.
The Urban Land Institute (ULI) run by its members was founded in Washington D.C. in 1936 as a non-profit research and educational organisation. Today it has over 47,000 active members worldwide. Its goal is to constantly develop urban areas through intelligent project and neighbourhood development and state-of-the-art future technologies, and hence to create the necessary quality of life for the people.
We are currently involved in ULI committees in Italy and in the future in the DACH region together with CEOs from the real estate industry, mayors, urban planners, architects and many other experts. Current topics are: Cities to Live – Hotel & Housing | Cities to Work – Office & More | Cities to Supply – Retail & Logistics | Investment and the City – Capital Markets | Future Cities – Smart City | Building Cities – Urban Developments, Independent advice for cities and communes | Advisory Services Program.
As a non-profit relief organisation, Ingenieure ohne Grenzen (Engineers Without Borders) has been providing international development cooperation since 2003.
The IOG have set themselves the task of supporting people of any skin colour, ideology or religion whose basic infrastructural needs are not met due to hardship or poverty. This applies, for example, to acute problems in the areas of water supplies, sanitation, energy supplies and bridge construction, as well as to establishing the conditions for safeguarding the basic infrastructure.
The activities of this organisation are similar to the goals of the GGBA. Synergies exist, for example, with regard to the preservation of habitats and natural water cycles and to the use of renewable energies.
We would be pleased if our members would further strengthen the cooperation.
